LeBron James has been to 10 NBA Finals in his career. He has faced some great opponents in his 20-year career, many of them, with a championship on the line. But, by far his biggest obstacle was Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The two have faced off each other four times in the Finals, with King James gaining much respect for his adversary. This respect is also something that his two sons, Bronny James and Bryce James have inherited. In fact, last year, while the James boys were playing in the driveway, Bron claimed on Instagram that Bryce was even trying to emulate the three-point shooting specialist.
Bryce isn’t the only member of the James household who admires Steph. His eldest brother Bronny has also shown his appreciation for the four-time NBA Champion on more than one occasion. It was just two years prior to Bryce’s Curry-esque three-point attempt that the newest USC Trojan referred to the Warriors star as his “dad” on IG Live.
LeBron James once claimed that Bryce James was trying to emulate Stephen Curry
Family is everything to LeBron James, and The King is particularly close with his two sons. Bronny and Bryce are almost like mini versions of their legendary father, and share the same love for the sport of basketball that he has. As such, the three are often seen practicing together and playing around, particularly in their driveway.
Last year, the three men of the James household were seen playing in the very same driveway. Starting an Instagram Live session, LeBron started taking jump shots with his sons. While putting shots, Bryce decided to put one up from quite far back. A decision that felt eerily familiar for his father.
This led to Bron suggesting that his youngest son was trying to emulate Stephen Curry. Especially, given how he was chucking up the shot from deep range.
“You in Steph Curry range back there. He’s trying to shoot like Steph Curry… he all the way back there!”
Unfortunately, Bryce failed to sink the shot, but the attempt was good. After all, it isn’t easy to replicate the shooting, let alone the greatness of Wardell Stephen Curry.
King James once claimed he would love to team up with Steph Curry
LeBron James has great admiration for Stephen Curry, both as a rival and as a player. He has faced the greatest three-point shooter on many occasions but has only ever played alongside him in All-Star Games. As such, when asked which player he would love to play with in the NBA, he immediately pointed to Steph.
Steph laughed off the suggestion, but it certainly would have been a scary combo. One that could have possibly dominated the league for years.
