Serena Williams Announces Gender of Her Second Baby through a Drone Display

Alexis Ohanian arranged for the gender of his and Serena Williams’ second baby to be revealed via drone display at a recent ‘baby shower-slash-gender reveal’ party.

Williams was ‘team pink’ for the party, part of which was filmed for a YouTube video, with the tennis ace confessing: ‘I’m a little nervous because I don’t have any contingency plan if it turns out to be a boy.’

In true gender reveal style, with either a blue or a pink cake to represent an expectant boy or a girl respectively, Ohanian ordered a yellow cake to throw Williams off so that he could surprise her with the drone display.

‘We are actually going to reveal Jelly Bean’s sex. The way we’re going to do it, though, is with a little style and some spectacular lights,’ Ohanian revealed to the camera, before calling on the DJ to give them some music and ‘draw attention to the heavens.’ After cooing from guests, drones lit up the sky and spelled out ‘Girl!’

Williams and Ohanian met in Rome in 2015 when Serena was competing at the Italian Open and got married in November 2017, two months after the birth of their daughter Olympia.
