Steph Curry Talks With Draymond Green While He’s Under Indefinite Suspension

Amid Draymond Green’s indefinite suspension, Warriors star point guard Steph Curry has revealed the words of advice he gave to his longtime teammate.

“The conversations yesterday were about him personally, making sure the focus is getting right, getting on a path that allows him to be who he needs to be as a person, as a man, a husband and a basketball player in that order,” Curry said after Thursday’s loss to the Clippers.

Green has been a key member of the Warriors roster since joining the team in 2012. However, the aggression he’s harbored throughout his career has crossed the line, according to Curry.

“He can’t do what he’s been doing. He knows that. We know that. Everyone knows that. What that means to change, I thin, that’s the search for the answer. That’s the journey that we’re on now,” Curry added.

The league’s focus is getting Green the help he needs while he’s out of the lineup, and the Warriors’ focus is to try to play winning basketball without him.

Golden State is 10-14 on the season and will need to flip a switch, either with or without Green, to become the championship-caliber team it’s been for the better part of a decade.

The Warriors play host to the Nets (13–11) at 8:30 p.m. ET Saturday.
