Director David Ayer and Jason Statham Reunite in the New Actioner Co-Written by Sylvester Stallone!

I think every action fan got extremely happy when they saw the trailer for Jason Statham’s upcoming The Beekeeper from Fury & Suicide Squad helmer David Ayer. The footage looks bad ass, bone crunching and ultra-violent with The Stath delivering his signature action but amped up to 100. This could be Statham’s finest hour and potential new franchise crowd pleaser.

Well, get excited again folks because Statham and Ayer are reuniting for another brutal action pic called Levon’s Trade. To make this one even sweeter, it’s written by none other than Sylvester Stallone! That’s right! Rambo has written an action film for his Expendables comrade so the talent involved here is off the chain. Stallone adapted the script from the novel of the same name which was written by Chuck Dixon. This is book one in an 11 book series about Levon Cade so there’s plenty of source material for Statham to F up a lot of baddies.

The movie will chart how Levon Cade (Statham) left his “profession” behind him to go ‘straight’ and work in construction. He wants to live a simple life and be a good father to his daughter. But when his boss’s teenage daughter Jenny vanishes, he’s called upon to re-employ the skills that made him a legendary figure in the shadowy world of black ops. His hunt for the missing college student takes him deep into the heart of a sinister criminal conspiracy creating a chain reaction that will threaten his new way of life. Per Deadline

The hot package is hitting the AFM hard from Black Bear and Brock Film which is the new production banner of former Miramax boss Bill Block. This will mark Sly’s first foray into screenwriting since penning Rambo: Last Blood in 2019 and Creed II in 2018.

From the looks of it, Statham and Ayer look to be assembling the ultimate action film duo similar to Scott Adkins and Jesse V Johnson. If it isn’t broke, do not fix it and I think the powers that be loved what they saw from first look footage of The Beekeeper. Aside from Statham looking as cool as ever, the action looks John Wick-esque with plenty of bullets, fists, feet and bloodshed to fill two movies.

Here’s hoping Levon’s Trade warrants more of the same and this is the start of a lucrative partnership between Statham and Ayer.

Lock N Load for future Intel on this one as we’re your Action Fix and The Stath!!!
