“Curry Should Be Ashamed”: Internet Users Take Offense at Tearful Warriors Fan After Girl Expends Life Savings to Watch Stephen Curry on the Bench

The NBA is currently experiencing a surge in global excitement, largely attributed to the advancements in technology and the widespread use of social media. However, with this heightened attention comes a narrative concerning fans missing out on their favorite superstars. The storyline gained traction when players started resting for load management purposes. Recently, the narrative resurfaced when the Golden State Warriors faced the Milwaukee Bucks without Stephen Curry.

Stephen Curry, even though not injured, took some time off from the game. Steve Kerr cited the reason behind Steph’s absence as a cultivation of fatigue. However, among fans’ disappointment at Steph-less Warriors, a unique story gained massive attention.

Fan travels 11 hours to see Stephen Curry play

In a recent Warriors home game, Brittany Smith, an ardent fan of the team and particularly of Steph Curry, attended with high expectations as the team hosted Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, Stephen Curry was nowhere to be seen on the court. In response to the disappointment, Smith posted a video expressing her emotions, capturing the moment of her tearful reaction. In the video, she revealed that she had used her life savings to secure good seats to see Steph play.

The fan, known as @brittany.smithh on Instagram, not only passionately supports the Warriors, but has also showcased her skills on the court as a member of the Brevard Blue Devils’ Girls basketball team.

Fans bash Curry for sitting out on Twitter
Fans rallied in support of Brittany, with one individual expressing strong sentiments, stating that “Steph should be ashamed.”

Brittany faced trolling from several fans who criticized her for not checking the player lineup before booking her tickets. In response, @damuuu98 came to her defense, asserting that teams often alter their lineups, sometimes even within an hour of the game.

Adding to the criticism, @jimdegraaf took a shot at Stephen Curry, claiming he wouldn’t sit out to defend his celebrity golf title; which he won the previous year. The fan suggested that Curry should prioritize on-court commitments and take a rest from off-court endeavors instead.

Echoing similar sentiments, @chicagofinest43 expressed shock at Curry being paid to be on the court but chose not to play. Probably a list of off days for players then? for a more controlled and even approach?

Responding to fans justifying Curry’s absence due to a back-to-back game scenario, @KylinnsDad035 sarcastically questioned the notion that Steph couldn’t play 30 minutes per day for two consecutive days.

Fans’ reaction unarguably marks their frustration behind their star players taking days off. However, in Brittany’s case, it is highly possible that she could get treated to a better deal by either Warriors or Steph himself – just like a few other fans stated.
