The Millionaire Grammy Winner Receives Approval from Michael Jordan’s Brand

The Jordan Family won’t skip on celebrating the Grammy Winner in their midst. Billie Eilish has new Grammy gold to add to her trophy room as “What Was I Made For?” won Song of the Year. Michael Jordan’s ‘Jumpman23’ Instagram page celebrated Eilish winning one of the top prizes of the 2024 Grammy Awards with a special mention.

“She was made for this!” the Jumpman page accurately said. The song from the Barbie original soundtrack has been winning big everywhere. But it’s also big for the Jordan Brand and their star. Eilish once attended a Met Gala afterparty sporting Air Jordan 4s. Nike released the Billie Eilish x Nike Air Alpha Force 88 “Venom Green” in 2023 but Air Jordan also has its Billie Eilish collection.

The Billie Eilish x Air Jordan 15 was released in 2021. AJ15 is Nike designer Tinker Hatfield’s proverbial ‘black sheep’ as the design never quite satisfied him. But that gives the zany artist’s edition a very fitting context. She also has her own version of the AJ1’s in the signature green. Billie Eilish x Air Jordan has additional merch under the Swoosh Brand’s umbrella.

The one Eilish-Jordan intersection fans love the most was at the 2023 Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago. Eilish headlined the festival with a nod to His Airness, the Chicago Bulls, and the Windy City. She sported an authentic replica of a vintage #23 Bulls jersey blended with her signature streetwear style. The black and red jersey the singer was drowning in was a replica of the one MJ wore in the 1998 NBA finals.

She dyed her hair red and black to stay on theme. Complementing her sunglasses, chains, black shirt, and socks, were a pair of Nike trainers – reportedly the first glimpse of her new design with the brand.

Jumpman doesn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate its artists. Including the ones outside the sports realm. And Eilish was not the only big winner in the Jordan Family.

The Jordan Brand celebrates its artists

J. Ivy, the president of the Chicago chapter of the Recording Academy, was also repping the Jordan Brand at the Grammy Awards. It is a dream come true for the poet who shared several glimpses of the biggest night of his career. Ivy won the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album in 2023 and snagged another trophy this year.

The Jumpman23 page shared Ivy’s post with his newest Grammy on its Stories too. “Dreams in flight,” the Air Jordan brand appropriately captioned the post.

This speaks of the Jordan Brand’s expanding influence beyond basketball and sports in general. With Michael Jordan being a cultural influence, it’s only fitting two of the trendiest names in music and spoken word rep the brand.
