Amazon MGM might not have given The Beekeeper’s sequel an official greenlight yet, but the success of the first film makes the odds of it being a franchise starter much higher. The studio is already working on a new action movie with Statham and director David Ayer that also involves Sylvester Stallone. Mechanic: Resurrection was the last Statham movie sequel to outgross the previous installment, and that was back in 2016. There is even the potential for more fans to come once the movie releases on streaming. The Beekeeper 2 surpassing the original movie’s box office would be more plausible, as long as it maintains the elements of The Beekeeper audiences have loved.
