A hint concerning Stephen Curry’s future in light of Klay Thompson’s leaving scares the Warriors.

For Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry, losing his friend and teammate Klay thompson has to be among the toughest situations he’s had to face in 2024. Currently, Curry is focused on representing the United States Basketball National Team in the summer Olympics.

He is part of a star-studded team that has the potential to go back home with the gold medal. But during this summer media tour ahead of the games, Stephen Curry also had to respond to some uncomfortable questions. Curry spoke to Yahoo Sports in Las Vegas to discuss the future at the Warriors. Contrary to what most Golden State fans would think. Curry kept it real, he doesn’t know what the future holds.

Could Stephen Curry leave the Golden State Warriors?

This is what Curry told Yahoo Sports: “I mean, I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life. It’s always been my goal, and I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now, but like you said, life, and especially life in the NBA, it is a wild environment, and things change quickly. Not having Klay man, it still hasn’t really sunk in, just because you’ve been doing it for 13 years together.

And you know, (Warriors coach Steve Kerr) made a joke. He’s like, ‘Sometimes you can’t really find Klay in the offseason, and you don’t really hear from him as much, and then he shows up at training camp ready to go.’ I kind of have this idea that October, he’ll still (show up) like, ‘Hey guys, what’s up?’ But I know it’s not happening.”

Allthough he wasn’t adamant on saying he will be a Warrior for life, it is evident that Klay Thompson’s exit made Stephen Curry reevaluate some aspects of his career. Granted, Steph can still lead the Golden State Warriors to another championship but he will no longer have the other ‘Splash Brother’. The summer still has some spare time so the Golden State Warriors leadership can pic another player who can fill the void left by Klay Thompson. No matter what happens, it’s pretty clear Stephen Curry was left with a massive void inside after Klap Thompson’s departure.
