On a special day, Stephen Curry writes his wife a heartfelt note while they wait for Ayesha to arrive at the Olympics in Paris.

Stephen Curry might have a lot on his plate right about now. But the first-time Olympian isn’t known as the ultimate family man for nothing. 5000+ miles apart from his beloved wife and mother of four, Ayesha Curry, the Warriors superstar posts a simple message on their special day on Instagram. The high school sweethearts’ love story is one that has been told over and over to the point it’s as fresh in our minds as it’s in theirs.

From the casual meet-and-greet in the church in 2003 when the duo were nothing more than 15 and 14 to the more serious pursuit from 2008, Steph and Ayesha finally tied the knot on July 30, 2011. 13 years and a whole load of life-altering changes later, Curry decided to keep it simple.

“13 years in and still loving every minute of it my woman! @ayeshacurry“

“July 30, 2011”

Recounting her initial days talking to the Central Church of God’s darling boy, the millionaire entrepreneur said, “He was the cute boy at church that all of the girls were obsessed with, so I made a generalization that maybe he wasn’t for me.” But little did she know that the then-14-year-old’s subtle attempts at flirting certainly left an impression. And what exactly did Ayesha do to catch Steph’s attention? Asking for a friend, of course.

Maynards Fuzzy Peach – the sugar-sanded peach gummy candies that Ayesha would bring back from visiting her hometown, Toronto. Yup, as simple as that! When the universe itself is rooting for you, even gummies are enough to find your soulmate. The firsthand witness to it all, the Currys’ baby sister, Sydel Lee-Curry, reminisced about those adorable moments.

“That’s how she would flirt with him, in a way. She would find him after church, barely say two words, and like walk away. I would look at her like ‘God, she’s so lame.’ He clearly liked it. It left an impression,” the co-owner of Domaine Curry said in Curry’s biography, The Miraculous Rise of Steph Curry.

It was enough for a breakout basketball legend that Steph was destined to be excited about his trip to LA for ESPYS in 2008 because “Oooooh. L.A. That’s where Ayesha is.” From 2008, the real dating happened, culminating in four children and a happy home. And now, the Olympics.

Stephen Curry provides an update on his wife’s travel plans to Paris

It’s been a little over 3 months since Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry welcomed their fourth baby boy, Caius Chai Curry. Having planned their little bundle of joy around the Paris Olympics, the little guy got one over the parents by coming in a few days early. Caius wasn’t about to miss his Dad’s first and probably the last Olympics!

Of course, the new mom needs time to recuperate. As such, Steph’s family has yet to join him in the ‘City of Love’. In a recent chat with Andscape, ‘Chef Curry’ said, “My wife might come the last week when the medal rounds start. We have a new baby so it makes it tough to travel.” Anyone with a newborn baby can attest to this fact. But Ayesha Curry has decided on Paris as her summer vacation destination.

In a short tête-à-tête with Thirteen Lune, the black-and-brown owned beauty e-commerce brand, the Sweet July Skin founder spilled the beans on her plans. “We’re headed to Paris to support Stephen and Team USA,” Ayesha said in their blog, The Great Escape. Full disclosure, though, the fourth-time new-mom always has an eye (and nose) out for the French cuisine!

So, if you are out there, sampling the local treats and indulging in all things good that Paris has to offer, don’t be too surprised to find Ayesha right next to you.
