Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been named a finalist for the 2023-24 NBA Clutch Player of the Year award.
Curry finished first in points (189), made field goals (59) and made 3-pointers (32) in the clutch this season, defined by the league as the last five minutes of a game in which the score is within five points.
Curry shot 49.6 percent from the field and 45.7 percent from three in these scenarios and the Warriors were 23-20 with him in the lineup.
The other two finalists for the award were Chicago Bulls’ guard DeMar DeRozan and Oklahoma City Thunder guard and MVP finalist Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The inaugural winner of the Clutch Player of the Year award in the 2022-23 season was Sacramento Kings’ guard De’Aaron Fox, who led the league in clutch scoring and made field goals that year.
