Draymond Green has been central to many of the Golden State Warrior’s issues this season. From suspension to ejection the former DPOY has failed Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in multiple ways. However, a breaking point came when the Dubs faced the Orlando Magic and Green was ejected within four minutes of the game. The frustration was so heavy that Steph was broken into tears.
So, in an attempt at self-reflection Green himself asked Klay how the team feels when he is ejected in their latest podcast. Thompson doesn’t respond to the question honestly due to his and Steph’s “nice guy” attitude. “So when you’re not out there, it’s like a piece of us is gone,” says Klay.
However, NBA legend Tim Lagler didn’t hesitate to call Green out on his antics saying Klay’s reaction was dishonest on ESPN.” I don’t actually think Klay Thompson was being honest in terms of what internally Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, Steve Kerr, and that organization feels when moments like that happen,” said Lagler.
He further blasted Draymond saying, “Talking about a team that still has Steph Curry playing at that level, and when you(Draymond Green) can’t control your emotions to that extent four minutes into a game that you have to have this late in the season, there’s no other word for it for me other than selfish, because that’s a guy that can’t put the collective ahead of his own venting needs.”
While the Dubs won the game 101-93 there was a huge dent in seeing Steph and their dynasty feeling so helpless.
