The Jordan brand has made it to the biggest spectacle in sports entertainment, WrestleMania. The brand has made its mark in various markets over the last few decades. Despite this diversity in collaborations, fans have always ached for the Chicago Bulls legend to join forces with someone from the wrestling world. In a recent interview for Complex, WWE great and CCO Triple H also ached for the same. Well, it looks like all the requests have caught the attention of Michael Jordan, as Air Jordan has released their new collaboration with WWE Champion, Roman Reigns.
Air Jordan’s entry into the WWE world is a much-awaited one. The sneakers culture of WWE in this modern era is as good as the one in the NBA. Also notably, someone who has endorsed the Jordan brand almost throughout his career would be The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. After witnessing his love for the brand, MJ and his team decided to give Reigns his own Jordan shoe, and the internet is in awe of it.
Ahead of WrestleMania 40, the $143 billion worth company teased the Air Reigns – A High-ankle shoe, completely black with a pinch of red on the logo alone. Well, there were a few more low-ankle sneakers – A black, grey, red combo, with black as the majority, a full white sneaker, and an off-white with a pinch of olive green on the sides. The above sneaker line is officially named ‘The Bloodline’, and let’s see if it can become one of the best collaborations of the Jordan brand. Reigns shared in the above teaser, “Bring this Reigns, Bloodline. Jumpman forever baby”.
The one who’d be most excited about this collaboration would be none other than WWE’s Chief Content Creator Triple H, and here is why.
How did Triple H hint at a Jordan brand-WWE collaboration in his sneaker-shopping interview?
Paul Levesque aka Triple H joined Complex’s famous ‘Sneaker shopping’ episode last week. Out of the 8 shoes he purchased, the Travis Scott x Michael Jordan 1 Black Phantom was his single highest buy, which cost him $1200. When asked about the sneaker culture in the WWE, he shared, “It’s not just a flex on TV, it’s a flex in the locker room”. Triple H was also questioned, “Do you think it’s time for a wrestler to have a signature Jordan deal?”
The Chief Content Creator of WWE replied, “I do. You know it’s funny I thought about it for a long time…It affects culture in a big way and I think if somebody doesn’t do the signature line with some of our talent…I think they are missing the boat on something that can be very impactful.” Well, here we are with ‘The Bloodline’ from Roman Reigns. Let’s see if it lives up to its hype.
