Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry are very involved in different charities and community efforts. Founders of the Eat. Learn. Play. foundation, the couple’s nonprofit organization focuses on providing children with access to different resources from nutritious meals to academic opportunities.
In a devastating report from Yahoo News, it was revealed that a school garden funded by Steph and Ayesha has been vandalized and destroyed.
“Someone tore apart the garden at a school garden that had been funded by Steph and Ayesha’s foundation,” Yahoo reported. “The vandalism was discovered Monday at Global Family Elementary School in East Oakland, although it had probably occurred over the weekend, Oakland Unified School District officials said.”
This is terrible news, as the Curry family works hard to provide children with an environment to thrive, and a big part of that has been damaged. According to Yahoo, a police report has been filed, but the school’s focus right now is on rebuilding what was damaged.
Neither Steph or Ayesha have publicly commented on the news, as the two are likely working to allocate the necessary resources to quickly rebuild the vandalized garden. The couple’s Eat. Learn. Play. account on X (formerly known as Twitter) was last active one week ago, sharing behind the scenes footage of a schoolyard being built:
The foundation has been active daily on Instagram, moving forward with business as usual, sharing different story posts of their day to day activities. This was terrible news, but something the foundation seems prepared to take care of.
