Winning a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2022, NBA veteran Nemanja Bjelica has reportedly retired from basketball, per Sportando. Bjelica’s last season in the NBA was that championship run with Golden State, where he appeared in 71 regular season games and 15 postseason games.
Playing seven seasons in the NBA, Bjelica had a solid career that finished with an NBA championship. While there were some ups and downs for Bjelica in his final NBA season, he was overall a positive contributor for the Warriors as a stretch big and secondary playmaker. Playing his role well for Golden State, Bjelica had key moments both in the regular season and postseason.
In their report, Sportando added that Bjelica is retiring due to injuries. With opportunities to extend his basketball career overseas, it seems as if Bjelica will be stepping away from basketball entirely as injuries have made it too difficult to continue playing. At 35 years old, it seems Bjelica has made the decision to call it a career.
A solid role player throughout his time in the NBA, Bjelica carved out a very nice career for himself as a second round pick. That final season in the NBA is a very good one to end on, as there is no better way to go out than as an NBA champion.
