It was recently announced that three-time NBA champion Patrick McCaw had signed a deal with Belgian professional basketball team Filou Oostende. McCaw won two rings with the Golden State Warriors, and another with the Toronto Raptors.
McCaw wasn’t a major contributor to the championship teams he was on, but he did play 15 postseason games for the 2017 Warriors group that went 16-1 in route to a championship. In his NBA career, McCaw has played 199 games across five seasons. Drafted 38th overall in 2016, McCaw found himself on some dominant teams, winning championships with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018 before joining the Toronto Raptors in 2019 who went on to win a championship as well.
Now joining Filou Oostende, McCaw should have an opportunity to play big minutes after never being a consistent rotation player in the NBA. The most playing time McCaw got in the NBA was in his rookie season with the Warriors, when he averaged 15.1 minutes per game in 71 appearances. McCaw averaged 24.5 minutes per game with the Raptors in the 2019-20 season, but played in just 37 games.
While he has won at the highest level in the NBA, McCaw is still just 27 years old, and likely wants an opportunity to play more than he has gotten the chance to so far in the NBA.
