It was announced by the Mexico City Capitanes that the team has signed Golden State Warriors champion Juan Toscano-Anderson to a contract. The Capitanes are a G-League team in Mexico City, Mexico, and wrote the following in their official announcement of the Toscano-Anderson signing:
“Capitanes announced today that Juan Toscano-Anderson will begin laving for the Mexico City team during the NBA G League 2023-24 season. Toscano-Anderson saw action with the Utah Jazz during the 2022-23 season play. He appeared in 22 games, averaging 3.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. During that season, Juan also was part of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Mexican also played in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors from 2019 to 2022. His career accolades include being NBA Champion with the Warriors in 2022. two-time LNBP Champion (2017 and 2019. and being named LNBP Most Valuable Player in 2018.”
Toscano-Anderson was rumored to have worked out with the Warriors this summer, but the team seems to have gone with other options in training camp, which led to the NBA champion signing a G-League deal. Toscano-Anderson has also spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz during his NBA career, and will look to impress in the G-League as he works to get back to the NBA.
With some solid NBA experience, Toscano-Anderson should be a solid piece for the Capitanes.
