Draymond Green spotted with LeBron James in France after becoming a free agent

It’s no secret that Draymond Green even has business with LeBron James, they are very good friends and they were just spotted hanging out in France. James has been enjoying his free time before returning to the Lakers’ training grounds for a new NBA season. Draymond Green just decided to opt out of his player option for the Golden State Warriors and became an unrestricted free agent. Meaning he can absolutely sign a new contract with the team of his choosing. This might just be the opportunity LeBron James has been looking for with Green and convince him to become a Laker. If there’s a type of player this team does not have, that is a proper rebounder. And Green is definitely the best at that specific job.

What are Draymond Green’s chances to join the Lakers?

Let’s start with the fact that Draymond Green has been defending LeBron James in the GOAT debate forever. Even though he played alongside Stephen Curry for his entire career, Green still mentions LeBron James when anybody asks him who the best player in NBA history may be. He never hesitates and he always offers an explanation that will even make you think Michael Jordan is not that great. For that alone, it’s not crazy to think Draymond Green absolutely wants to become part of the Lakers. If it’s not just to pick a team where he can perpetuate his legacy, it can definitely be simply to play alongside one of his idols. But wishful thinking is not the only way in which GReen can make this happen.

In the image shared by an Instagram user, Draymond Green appears holding a cigar right next to LeBron James. The two of them seem to be enjoying some good quality time. Now that the Lakers are weeks away from starting the pre-season, GM Rob Pelinka will attempt everything in his power to make LeBron James happy. Trying to sign Draymond Green might be one of those efforts. The team does have the salary cap to take on his contract after getting rid of Russell Westbrook’s elevated wages. Even Stephen A. Smith already stated he believes Green wants to become a Laker, which means there is a high change he might become just that before the new season starts.
