It’s no secret that Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen have had a complicated relationship in recent years. Their “friendship” was put under even more strain after the news broke that Jordan’s son Marcus was dating nonother than his former Bulls teammate’s ex-wife Larsa Pippen.
“Aesthetically it probably doesn’t look good. Just to hear of it, it doesn’t resonate well with people.” commented Pippen on the unfortunate relationship. It was the documentary about Jordan’s career with the Chicago Bulls (The Last Dance) that was responsible for initiating the feud, though. Several of the Bulls players – most notably Pippen- weren’t happy with how they were portrayed in the series, and many took issue with the narrative that it was thanks only to Michael that the Bulls won so many titles and went onto become such an iconic side.
The release of Pippen’s autobiography, in which he claimed to be a “much better teammate than Michael”, only succeeded in increasing the schism between the two and it seems that now a reconciliation is virtually impossible.
A recent viral video of Pippen has once again inadvertently brought up the feud again. The former Bulls star was present at the NBA game between the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic which took place in Mexico and was sat alongside Mexican artist Peso Pluma.
At one point during the game, the cameras focused on him, and his reaction seemed to suggest that he wasn’t too amused by the attention. He gazed back in disapproving fashion.
Fans who side with Jordan in their dispute took the opportunity to call out Pippen. “How you look at MJ after he made you a 6 rings man,” was the top comment. “The look of Scottie pippin when he spots MJ in the building,” wrote another.
