Another day and another NBA veteran chiming in on the Michael Jordan versus LeBron James argument. Many veterans, fans, and analyst have already given their names and reasons, yet the GOAT debate seems never-ending.
Michael Beasley on the latest episode of The OGs podcast spoke about his GOAT and shared a funny Shaquille O’Neal story. Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, co-hosts of the podcast, asked him about his overall GOAT since he has played with a lot of legacy players. Beasley said “LeBron. And I can give you very compelling argument. If we had right here, all players from history, stats, no names. We stack the best. Point guard, shooting guard, small forward, etc. Whatever. Even coach, you can put that man’s stats up. And he can be the best 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.”
Beasley also said, “I feel like people that stan Michael Jordan is the goat like no disrespect but y’all just holding on to old feelings.” He even said Jordan has the best coaching resume. ” He can have the best coaching resume he got the best coaching resume. he can have the best GM resume like his stats alone.” Not sure if the last part of said with some jest or being serious. But Beasley further added the reason why Jordan is not the GOAT.
Beasley details one thing LeBron did better than Michael Jordan
During his college days, Michael Beasley was one of the most feared basketball players. The Miami Heat during the 2008 NBA draft selected him as the overall second pick. During his career, he played alongside Dwyane Wade in the Miami Heat. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kristaps Porziņģis.
Beasley asked Michael Jordan’s fans to acknowledge the fact that LeBron had been able to score 40,000 points and still counting. The 35-year-old highlighted the fact that LeBron can take care of his body like nobody else. He even said The King takes better care of his body than some people do with their Ferrari. Continued and asked fans an important question “ how you going sit to here and say he not the best ever.“
The debate is not about how one person feels towards Michael Jordan or LeBron James. But actually what they made you feel when they played on the basketball court. So who is your GOAT?
