Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is currently suspended indefinitely from the NBA for his latest unsportsmanlike act on the court. This one came in a loss to the Phoenix Suns, when Green struck Jusuf Nurkic in the face with a spinning shot.
The Warriors have been open about Green needing to do a better job staying on the floor, but the conversations surrounding this latest incident have primarily been about Green improving his overall mental wellbeing. This is what Steph Curry spoke about following Thursday’s loss to the LA Clippers.
“The conversations yesterday were about – he can’t do what he’s been doing. He knows that. We know that. Everyone knows that. What that means to change, I think that’s the search for the answer. That’s the journey that we’re on now.”
Curry added, “Him personally, making sure the focus is getting right, getting on a path that allows him to be who he needs to be as a person, as a man, a husband and a basketball player in that order.”
The Warriors do not know how long this is going to take, but they do know the focus is on Green returning to the court as a more under control player and person. This is what everyone wants to see, and what the Warriors are confident can happen.
