Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have been eliminated from the NBAplayoffs after losing to the Sacramento Kings in a crucial game. It could have been the last game in which Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green played together on the same team.
But Curry received a very pleasant surprise right after the bitter taste of the loss to the Kings. His face of surprise and happiness upon seeing the gift was a 180-degree turn after the elimination of the Warriors in the NBA season.
The big surprise Stephen Curry received
The Golden State Warriors star didn’t have a good time after the game against Sacramento, but his face lit up after receiving the news that he will be part of the U.S. men’s basketball team for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This will be the 36-year-old Curry’s first Olympics, making him the fifth player to represent the Warriors at an Olympics with Team USA.
Steph will surely feel right at home as Warriors coach Steve Kerr will lead the men’s basketball team at the Olympics. Kerr replaces Gregg Popovich, who led Team USA to the gold medal at the Tokyo Games.
LeBron James will lead the team that will also include Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, among others.
The U.S. team will hold a training camp and exhibition games in Las Vegas in July before traveling to Paris.
