MJ himself stated once that the only player who could beat him one-on-one was Kobe because he stole all his moves. That type of comparison has only probably happened once again in the more modern basketball era. This other comparison is between two of the greatest point guards in NBA history: Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving. To most, this comparison holds no ground because Curry has accomplished far more than Kyrie irving ever will. However, there are those who consider themselves NBA savants who have always placed Irving above anybody else.

One of Stephen Curry’s former teammates is Nick Young, he is the one who thinks people are not ready to claim Kyrie is the better point guard. But the comparison he used has been considered a tad disproportionate. He believes that NBA fans beack in the day thought Kobe Bryant was actually better than Jordan but nobody said it. This claim can be factually debunked with statistics and level of success. But Nick Young will stand his ground on this. This is what he wrote on his X account that made people go wild: “[Kyrie Irving] is the [Kobe Bryant] to [Steph Curry’s] [Michael Jordan]. People are scared to say he’s better.”

Granted, the one he lost against the Cleveland Cavaliers is amongst the most impressive NBA Finals in history. The man who made the three-pointer that won the game was Kyrie Irving. But that taste of victory was one out of three NBA Finals that the Cleveland Cavaliers lost against the Golden State Warriors. In the other two, they lost against Kevn Durant, Stephen Curry and company.
