In a report from NBA insider Marc Stein, it was revealed that the Golden State Warriors have hired personnel scout Jason Staudt to join their front office. As Stein noted, Staudt will be coming from the Washington Wizards to join the Warriors.
This is one of several front office and organizational moves the Warriors have made this summer, as the team recently shared a press release that detailed several of the changes being made. While the most notable of these is the departure of Bob Myers and the promotion of Mike Dunleavy Jr., there have been several other moves for Golden State as an organization this summer.
The addition of Staudt is one of the external hirings the Warriors have made this summer, as many of their other organizational moves have been internal promotions. Dunleavy was of course the headliner of those moves, as many anticipated him being the successor to Myers prior to Golden State making it official.
As for this latest move, the report from Stein added that Staudt was a longtime NBA assistant coach, who clearly has a lot of experience in and around the league. Moves like these can fly under the radar, as NBA front offices are often minimized to general managers and presidents, but there are several other front office members for every team that make a large impact.
