Rudy Gay is coming off a year where he appeared in 56 regular season games for the Utah Jazz.
The 17-year NBA veteran averaged 5.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 38.0% from the field.
This summer, the Jazz traded Gay to the Atlanta Hawks, who then traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder waived the 37-year-old, so he became a free agent, available to sign with any team in the league.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Gay will sign a deal with the Golden State Warriors.
In addition to the Jazz, Gay has also played for the Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings.
He has career averages of 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field and 34.6% from the three-point range in 1,120 regular season games (he has also appeared in 19 NBA playoff games).
As for the Warriors, they are coming off a year where they were the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record.
They beat the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in seven games) but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round (in six games).
