Michael Jordan is living his best life as a revhead.
The NBA legend has been the majority owner of NASCAR team 23XI Racing since 2020, giving Jordan an outlet for one of his great passions, motorsport.
The team name includes the number Jordan wore during his career and the car and driver jumpsuits are emblazoned with his brand’s iconic Jumpman logo.
Two of team’s cars are No. 23 and No. 45 — the same numbers Jordan wore in his jerseys during his basketball career.
And Jordan got his very own Talladega Nights moment as his team claimed their first victory of the season at the SuperSpeedway in Alabama on Monday (AEST).
Michael McDowell led on the final lap but a massive pile-up right at the end of the race helped Tyler Reddick in the No. 45 Toyota get over the line first.
Jordan celebrated with the team in pit lane and looked perhaps the happiest we’ve seen him since he claimed six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s.
The 61-year-old couldn’t contain his joy as he scooped up Reddick’s young son, giving him a high-five in touching scenes.
“Wow, how about that. That’s a moment,” the commentator said.
“Dad’s over here celebrating and you’re in the lap of Michael Jordan. Man, it don’t get any better than that right there. That is awesome.”

Michael Jordan’s team won the NASCAR race.
Sharing photos of the victory celebrations on Instagram, Reddick said: “Let’s go!!! So special to not just get our first win of the season, but doing it with the bossman here!
“So proud of this team!”
Speaking to NASCAR reporter Jamie Little after the win, Jordan was ecstatic and said he was completely invested in the team.
“They kept saying it was bad luck when I came to the track, so today we proved them wrong,” Jordan said of his team co-owner Denny Hamlin.
“Actually he did a good job by wrecking so we could get upfront. Tyler did a good job unfortunately Bubba (Wallace) couldn’t finish but the whole team did a good job. I’m very happy to be here to see it.
“This is the first time I’ve been here (for a win). To my wife and my kids and everybody, yeah we did it! I’m sorry I left you at home.
“It’s the NBA playoffs right now, so this to me is like an NBA playoff game. I am so ecstatic for the fans who support the sport.
“We’ve been working hard to get ourselves up to compete against all the top guys. We’ve done a heck of a job just to be where we are.
“For us to win a big race like this, it means so much to me and the team and the effort the team has done.
“Look, I’m all in. I love it. It replaced a lot of the competitiveness I had in basketball but this is even worse because I have no control.
“If I was playing basketball I’d have total control but I have no control so I live vicariously through the drivers, the crew chiefs and everybody. I’m very happy for 23XI.”
The victory sees Reddick move up to fifth overall in the NASCAR season standings.
Jordan has thrown himself into NASCAR and he might have more time to attend races after he sold his stake as owner of struggling NBA team the Charlotte Hornets for an overall profit of $2.725 billion.
The Hornets finished the NBA regular season with 21 wins — the equal third worst record in the league.
