The debate on who is the greatest basketball player of all time is never-ending, especially when it involves Michael Jordan and LeBron James.
Many believe Jordan is the best to ever play the game, but many also think LeBron deserves to be the GOAT because of all his accomplishments while still being great at his age.
Hall of Famer Allen Iverson also weighed in on the GOAT debate, saying how much he admires LeBron for what he’s done on and off the court.
“I love LeBron as a basketball player, everything he did for basketball. The man he is off the basketball court, all the things he’s accomplished, he’s it,” Iverson said on The Knuckleheads podcast.
“They are always putting them together. LeBron is on Mt. Rushmore, that’s enough.”
Iverson, who is a member of the NBA’s 75 Greatest Players, recalled the moment when Michael Jordan came to the ceremony and entered the room full of NBA legends and how everybody reacted.
“I just remember the reaction from everybody else, all the other 74 you know what I mean, and I remember the reaction from them, like I was looking at it like, ‘yo this man is the man for real’,” Iverson said.
“I hear all the comparisons and all that you know what I mean and I have to be biased. I have to be because he made me want to be me.”
