The Golden State Warriors head to Dallas for a showdown against the Mavericks with both teams looking to climb out of Play-In position. For the third straight game the Warriors will be without Steph Curry who is still nursing a sprained ankle back to health.
Steph to miss Texas showdown
The All-Time leading three point shooter in the history of the NBA went down with a sprained ankle against the Bulls last Thursday, and has been sidelined since. The Warriors played the San Antonio Spurs in a home and home series and split both games with Curry on the bench and tonight Steve Kerr confirmed that Steph will be out for at least another game.
Reports out of Golden State state that he has stayed in the Bay Area to continue working out on his own until he rejoins the Warriors for Friday’s practice and from there his progress will be monitored.
Chris Paul has been starting in place of Curry and has posted 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists over the last two games, but it’s a far cry from the 26.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5 assists that the Warriors are missing with the Splash Brother on the bench.
The Warriors have a couple of huge games against direct rivals in the Play-In race. They are currently in the 10th and final Play-In spot, and will play the 8th seeded Mavs tonight before traveling to LA to take on the Lakers who currently sit right above the Warriors in 9th.
