One of the best dynasties of this generation could soon be coming to an end, but the success that they have enjoyed is undeniable.
The Golden State Warriors have won four championships in the last nine years, and it is due in no small part to the greatness of Stephen Curry. And in a recent article by Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey ranking the top 50 playoff performers ever, he has the greatest shooter of all time at No. 9.
“No number can truly measure the amount of attention Stephen Curry commanded from opposing defenses at his peak, the fear he struck in opponents’ hearts and the extra feet of space his teammates had whenever Curry was on the floor,” Bailey writes. “He is one of those exceptionally rare players who legitimately changed the way basketball is played.”
He most definitely climbed the ranking after winning the 2022 NBA Finals without Kevin Durant and finally winning Finals MVP. As good as Curry plays during the regular season, he somehow only gets betters and more electric when the postseason rolls around.
His career averages in the playoffs are 27 points, six assists, and five rebounds per game. But it is his 39 percent shooting from beyond the arc that really makes teams fear facing Curry in the postseason.
Curry could be entering his last few years in his prime, so the Warriors might not have much time to make one more deep playoff run. But if there is one player that can carry a team to the NBA Finals, it is the greatest shooter the game has ever seen.
