Stephen Curry was just centimeters away from performing what would have been one of the most impressive trick shots ever seen. Before the Warriors’ Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Clippers – which they won 120-114- the point guard practiced some trick shots as he was getting warmed up for the game.
At one particular point, Curry gestured for one of the ball boys to pass him the ball as he was making his way into the tunnel for the final pre-match preparations.
What happened next was absolutely unthinkable. The NBA star decided to attempt a three-pointer from the tunnel which was not only further away from the opposing half court’s basket, but also positioned at an incredibly awkward angle.
Despite the difficulty of the shot, the ball was just centimeters away from gracefully entering the basket. The player’s reaction was hilarious- he couldn’t believe how close he’d come to perfectly executing the impossible shot and dropped to the floor in disbelief, his head in his hands.
The video of his attempt, which was published by the Golden State Warriors on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, has gained plenty of traction online, with thousands of users expressing their disbelief at how good Curry’s shot was. “Is he even human,” wrote one user. “One of the greatest to ever do it,” said another.
