Kevin Durant Opens Up About Warriors Fans

The Golden State Warriors will host the Phoenix Suns on opening night, and Suns star Kevin Durant will play in front of his old fanbase for the first time since leaving in 2019. When asked about this, Durant got honest about what that fanbase and organization means to him.

“Some incredible moments there,” Durant said of his time with the Warriors. “We have built a bond that don’t really have to be spoken about, me and the fans there in the Bay Area. I feel like they’ve been supporting me well before I came there, actually. And then once I became a part of the Warriors, they just went even harder in support of me, myself, and my teammates. Every player individually felt what it was like to play for the Golden State Warriors.”

This was a really cool message from Durant, who has gone back and forth online with the Warriors fanbase at times, but spoke on the bond he and the fanbase created during his time there. Complimentary of what the Warriors fanbase is like, Durant got honest about the impact they had on him and his teammates during his time there.

A two-time Finals MVP with the Warriors, Durant accomplished a lot during his time in Golden State, and should receive a warm welcome from the fans when he returns with the Suns.
