There are two sides to Lewis Hamilton‘s transfer story. First, the fans are eagerly waiting to see their idol in the all-red Ferrari suit. Second, the same fans don’t wish to see the Brackley outfit off him. Yes, it is a dilemma, but a historic one. Hamilton might be on the last few laps of his career, and a legendary team like Ferrari would be the perfect place for the motorsport legend to bid his farewell.
However, there have been doubts about the 7x stay at the Maranello-based team. What if he and Charles Leclerc don’t click? These thoughts seem unnecessary for now, and only 2025 will reveal the truth. Moreover, “Neither of them are sort of young, pushy Yuki Tsunodas. They’re quite mature, intelligent people,” believes ex-Ferrari Peter Windsor. The pundit feels Lewis will have a good time in the Italian team, as he would have nothing to lose.
Peter Windsor recently discussed some fiery matters of F1 on his YouTube livestream. Speaking of Leclerc’s recent performance drop and Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari venture, the pundit deduced some points. He said: “Charles is more emotional externally than Lewis and that’s always going to be his bugbear. Lewis I think will go there (Ferrari) and be super quick and super good because he knows he hasn’t got that many more years in Formula 1.” It is true, that we’ve always seen a more emotional side of Leclerc than of Lewis’s. This hasn’t always been favorable for the Monegasque as often his overwhelming outbursts have been like fodder to the opponents.
Meanwhile, Hamilton is ready for his next step in F1. He knows how to juggle stress and emotions during the race which has proven advantageous in his long career. Moreover, he could be quicker in Ferrari, potentially outperforming Charles in his fort. But, Hamilton is here to etch his legacy in the walls of Ferrari as well. His last dance is yet to come.
Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari stint would be the last few years of his glorious F1 career
Peter Windsor also said: “[Lewis] loves the whole things, the cars, the country and everything about it and the red overalls. He’s going to just love it… And you know Lewis is definitely going to be hard to beat at Ferrari.” Hamilton’s purpose to join the Red Squad is not just an eight-world champion title, but also to expand his business and charity. However, we cannot ignore the former Ferrari boss’s Lewis Hamilton claims. He might outperform Charles Leclerc and if that happens, how problematic could that be?
Knowing how competitive and quick (of course!) Leclerc is, he wouldn’t want the F1 ace to overtake him. If the air stirs more, Ferrari’s garage would tense up, which won’t be good for the team. But above all, Fred Vasseur and Co. must fix their cars if they want to win titles. And as for Lewis, he would surely be chasing glory. Hopping from one iconic to another, the legend seems ready for his next venture. And if everything goes right, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Hamilton could win his eighth title. With that, he would become the greatest of all time and not just one of them.
It’s great to see Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton bonding before their journey together. This will be crucial for both drivers as knowing each other more will make their stay easy. Not just Tifosi but the entire F1 community is eagerly waiting for this mammoth collaboration to see the light as soon as possible. Until then, as a Mercedes driver now, Lewis is Leclerc’s sworn rival till the end of 2024.
