NBA legend Michael Jordan has scored yet another trophy property for his portfolio.
According to Creative Loafing Tampa, an LLC with ties to the basketball great is the new owner of a contemporary estate in Jupiter, FL. He picked up the place for $17 million.
The mansion hit the market last November for $18.5 million, so His Airness inked himself quite the deal.
This is Jordan’s second purchase in the golf community known as Bears Club. The gated enclave of just 61 homes on nearly 400 acres boasts a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and is about a mile from the beach.
The 9,100-square-foot home promises “luxury living” and includes five bedrooms, a four-car garage, guesthouse, and club room. There’s also a huge great room that comprises the family room, dining areas, and sleek kitchen. Other details include a wet bar, home gym, and a primary suite that opens outside.
Set on almost an acre, the grounds are equally impressive, with a pool, spa, covered outdoor dining area, and an open-air kitchen.
Jordan’s other home in the upscale community is a much larger place—a 28,000-square-foot estate, which reportedly has a basketball court, gym, and guardhouse.
Chicago-area spread
The former Chicago Bulls star departed his Illinois home years ago, but he still hasn’t sold the pad that he had custom built in 1995. This massive spread in Highland Park, IL, has been on and off the market since 2012 at various price points. Over a decade later, it’s still available for $14,855,000.
Jordan’s number adorns the front gate, and his touches are all over the property. The 56,000-square-foot estate is equipped with “every conceivable luxury amenity,” including a regulation-size basketball court, circular infinity pool, putting green, tennis court, 14-car garage, and cigar room.
