BA GOAT Michael Jordan was famous for always denying any other NBA player in history could beat him one-on-one. He relished on competition and absolutely hated losing at anything, he got really intense multiple time losing at pool or golf. Imagine how he got when he lost at basketball. In the past, they have asked him which player could beat him one-on-one but he always sais only Kobe Bryant could because he copied his moves. But old footage got a more honest answer from him and it is making the rounds online. This admission is from the time in which Jordan was still playing with the Chicago Bulls.
The player that could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one
Contrary to what most people would think, Michael Jordan actually doesn’t think any of the Top 10 best NBA players of all time could beat him one-on-one. But there is one specific type of player againt whom MJ always struggled. The response to this question is not what people might expect. An answer for this has to do more with the technical aspects of playing the game than any specific player. One specific name or maybe two will stand out to you, especially because he is amongst the best NBA players in history who never won an NBA ring.
In a video from JumpmanHistory, Jordan revealed which player could beat him one-on-one. He said: “The hardest opponent for me to play against? In terms of 1-on-1? Small guys. Allen Iverson, Damon Stoudamire, Rod Strickland. Those little guards like that, it’s tough for me. Muggsy [Bogues]. [John] Starks? No problem with Starks. He could beat me on the perimeter, but I could take him in the post. He’s a heck of a good player. He’s a young talent. He is gonna continue to get better once he learns how to play the game on a much higher scale. Right now, he’s doing a lot on physical ability. He’s good, he’s quick. That’s a challenge for me to go out to him and his stature. He’s so quick and small. But it’s a challenge. I won’t back away.”
