A luxury suite at the College Football Playoff championship could have bought a professional sports team.
Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter shared the same box on Tuesday while watching the Michigan Wolverines defeat the Washington Huskies 34-13 and win the national title inside NRG Stadium in Houston.
Jordan invited a number of high-profile guests from the world of sport and entertainment to join him in his ‘Jumpman’ suite.
“Look at this box,” a TV announcer said. “Michael Jordan up there. Derek Jeter in that white Michigan hoodie.”
Rapper Travis Scott and TV personality Stephen A. Smith also watched the national championship with Jordan and Jeter.
All together, the suite featured a combined net worth of an estimated $3.5 billion.
“Wow, talk about a power lineup! Legends unite,” one fan tweeted
“Guess my invite got lost in the mail,” a second fan posted.
“I wonder if Jordan has bet on anything in the game. Lol,” a third fan said.
Others questioned why Smith was in the same suite as internationally famous sports legends.
“WHY IS STEPHEN A. IN THE DAMN ROOM????” one fan asked.
“Stephen A. walked into the wrong suite,” another joked.
Jordan won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and entered the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
Jeter won five World Series with the New York Yankees and entered the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020.
With Jordan and Jeter enjoying Michigan’s big win together, there were a total of 11 pro world championships inside the same College Football Playoff suite in Houston.
Jordan previously watched North Carolina in the same building during the NCAA men’s Final Four.
