The Golden State Warriors are fighting to finish the season strong. While escaping the play-in tournament is likely no longer in play for Golden State, just holding onto the 10th spot gives them a chance at earning a first round series.
With a superstar like Steph Curry, Golden State’s goal will always be a championship. This roster looks to be far from a true contender, but if Curry were to do the impossible with this group, it would ascend him even further up the all-time ranks.
During a recent episode of All Facts No Brakes, NBA legend Paul Pierce said another title would make Curry top-five all-time:
This was a controversial statement from Pierce, but one that has to be considered. Already considered by most to be a top-10 player all-time, another title for Curry – specifically with this underwhelming group, would undoubtedly move him up the all-time ranks.
Whether or not a title with this group would move Curry all the way to top-five is something to debate, but even making a deep run with this roster would be impressive for Golden State’s star point guard. Without a consistent second option for most of the season, Curry has needed to carry a heavy offensive burden for this team. This will have to continue for Golden State to make any noise in the postseason.
