During a recent episode of the 7PM in Brooklyn Podcast, Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony had Joe Budden on the show to discuss several different topics. Among these were any hot NBA takes Budden had, and one of them was that Steph Curry will be traded at some point in his career.
Quickly reacting to this take, Anthony said, “Steph ain’t going nowhere.”
Anthony added that he thinks Curry will retire with the Warriors, and when asked if he thinks Golden State will give him what he wants even as he ages, Anthony said, “Whatever. Give him the kitchen sink, everything.”
The topic then turned to winning, which Anthony added, “For sure he [wants to win], but you’re not gonna leave what you built. This is yours. You built the new stadium, you moved them from Oakland to San Francisco… There’s certain people in the NBA you just can’t do that to… He may not win [another championship], but I don’t think he goes nowhere.”
Curry is one of very few NBA players who will likely never be traded, and will stay on one team their whole career. This is part of what makes Curry such a legend, because he built the Warriors into the dynasty they became, and plans to remain there his entire NBA career.
