Reaching the triple helix, Stephen Curry motivates the Golden State Warriors to overcome Brooklyn Nets

The Golden State Warriors are far from their best this season and they relied on Steph Curry once more as he fired them to a 124-120 victory against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday evening. Warriors guard Curry scored 37 points during the win and in the process surpassed the 3,500-point milestone for three-pointers scored over the course of his career.

Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry scored 37 points to help his side to a 124-120 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night.
Curry ended the match with 14 from 22 shooting, and converted six of his eight three-point attempts. In the process, he went past 3,500 points made from three-pointers.
There were nervy periods for the Warriors who almost saw a 18-point lead slip before Curry scored 10 points over 100 seconds, and reinvigorating his side to hold on.

“Steph has had to carry this team, let’s be honest,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the match.
“And then the Draymond [Green, who is suspended indefinitely] news, he was emotionally spent the last few days. And it was a slow start tonight. Then, as he’s done so often, he flipped the switch. You can kind of see when it happens right away. And he was incredible.”
The Warriors were ultimately able to hold off the Nets, who could thank Cam Thomas’ 41 points for their attempted comeback, and with less than three minutes remaining in the third they were just four points behind.

A succession of three-point conversions from Curry re-established the Warriors, and they were able to close out the game.

“[That sequence] gave us confidence,” Kerr added. “I think that’s the biggest issue when you’re struggling, maybe you’re a little spent. You have to find confidence. So I think Steph just infuses us with confidence.”
Klay Thompson said: “He willed us to victory. We appreciate him. Hopefully tomorrow we can help shoulder the load a little more. He was special tonight, just his ability to create shots and make shots from all over the floor … I am grateful for Steph’s performance tonight.”
“It’s not just me. I can’t go win a game by myself,” Curry said. “I can play well, and I have to play well. I know that. But I don’t [play] the game by myself. There’s definitely pressure and I live for those types of moments. But, there are guys getting opportunities to step up … confidence is starting to build.”
