NBA 2K is among the most popular games in the world. Every year, during the offseason, 2K begins to release its player ratings. For fans of the gaming franchise, it’s a first chance to see how their favorite players stack up against each other and how they compare to previous iterations of the game.
On Wednesday, August 9, NBA 2K began releasing some of their star player ratings, including Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry. As such, it should come as no surprise that Curry will begin the new NBA 2K season with an overall rating of 96 – making him one of the best players in the game out of the gate.
Considering Curry is among the best guards in NBA history, it’s only fair that he would be given among the highest-rated players in the game. From the currently released list of players, only one person has a higher rating than Curry, and that’s reigning NBA champion Nikola Jokic, who has a 98 overall rating.
Curry does have some elite company, though, as multiple other future Hall of Fame talents were also given a 96 overall rating for the upcoming release of NBA 2K24. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid are all ranked at the same level as the Golden State guard.
While Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, and Jimmy Butler trail behind with a 95 overall rating.
2K fans will now be eagerly awaiting the release of more player ratings in the coming days and weeks as we edge closer to the release of the next installment in the popular gaming franchise.
