Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is always in dad mode!
The actor and former wrestling pro, 52, ran into a young fan during a trip to Target, and instead of snapping a pic or signing an autograph, the pair — ever-so-punnily — played a game of rock, paper, scissors together.
In a video of the exchange, which Johnson shared in an Instagram post on May 4, the two had an intense rivalry in the towel aisle after the kid challenged him to a match.
After Johnson won one round by — fittingly — playing “rock,” his opponent took the loss like a champ, and the star offered up a rematch.
“Aw, come on, you know I’m going for the rock all the time. Want to go again?” he asked, and the young fan obliged.
Then, the duo ended up with four draws in a row before, once again, Johnson won using “rock” — but their rivalry still wasn’t over.
Elsewhere in the store, their face-off continued, starting with two draws before — finally! — the actor’s young fan took home a sweet victory, beating Johnson by playing “scissors.”
Victorious, the child threw his hands up in the air, and the video ended with a GTA-inspired freeze frame and text that read: “Mission passed! Respect +”
In the caption, Johnson shouted out his opponent for his persistence — and hinted that yet another rematch may be in their future.
“Gotta respect this kid’s tenacity — he ain’t taking an L in public from The Final Boss,” the actor wrote, adding, “You know I wasn’t leaving this store without making sure this kid gets his ‘I beat the Rock at Rock, Paper, Scissors’ story.’ ”
“Good job, kid,” he added. “Payback is coming!!”
When Johnson isn’t dueling kids in the aisles of Target, he’s got three of his own to take care of at home.
The star is a proud girl dad to three daughters: Simone, 22, whom he shares with ex-wife Dany Garcia, and Jasmine, 8, and Tiana, 6, whom he shares with wife Lauren Hashian.
Speaking with PEOPLE about fatherhood in 2023, Johnson said, “I’ve reached a point in my life where I can create my own schedule, which has really been nice, because it wasn’t always that way, and I’m really lucky.”
“It allows me to get closer to the girls,” he added.
