The former tennis ace previously became a co-owner of the NWSL team, Angel City FC, alongside her husband and daughter. Apart from this, the American tennis legend’s admiration for soccer was also evident when she previously collaborated with the renowned actor and producer, Will Smith, for a unique documentary based on the sport. And now an enthralling teaser of the thought-provoking soccer film has recently piqued the interest of the audience on online platforms.

The 41-year-old tennis legend was previously announced as the executive producer of the unique sports documentary that has been titled “COPA 71”. In collaboration with Smith’s Westbrook Studios, the former tennis ace will showcase the unheard story of the 1971 Women’s World Cup that was dismissed by the soccer authorities, including FIFA. The historic event took place in Mexico and was under the auspices of the Federation of Independent European Female Football.

However, with the subsequent revamped format of FIFA, the women’s soccer tournament was left out of the history books until now. The movie, ‘COPA 71′ based on the same story, is all set to hit the cinemas next month.
