The adrenaline that comes with action movies that go beyond the edge to serve some of the most fascinating action dramas is unparalleled. Sitting in a cinema hall watching these stunts and fight sequences, where they defy gravity and do insanely beautiful things that seem impossible to us, is what hooks us. Many of us even wonder how they manage to do it. The hard work that goes into creating these scenes is serious business, involving countless bruises, some fractures, and even life-threatening situations. Actors have often spoken about those challenges. Fast & Furious is one such franchise that has remained relevant for years by doing some of the craziest stunts, and there are indeed stories of fatal accidents that have happened over the course of these two decades.

Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s Hobbs & Shaw, a spinoff of Fast & Furious, was a highly anticipated movie that promised some insane stunts. However, while they were promoting the spinoff, a stuntman suffered a head injury while shooting Fast & Furious 9, which left Jason Statham disturbed. “It is awful. It’s an unpredictable science,” Statham told Extra while promoting the film. “You do every measure that you can to eliminate these things from happening. It’s just a real shame that accidents happen. It’s awful for the families when someone gets really hurt.”

Stuntman Joe Watts was shooting for Fast & Furious 9 in the United Kingdom, where they were filming an intense action sequence. Joe had a fatal fall and suffered a severe head injury; he was supposed to jump from a balcony, but things went wrong. Production was halted, and an air ambulance was arranged. While he was stable, Watts was in an induced coma for some time. Reacting to this incident while promoting Hobbs & Shaw, Jason Statham called his relationship with the stunt people a huge foundation of his entire career. The actor, known for doing his own stunts, expressed his concern for the injured stuntman.
