Steph Curry and Chet Holmgren faced off for the first time ever in the NBA last night, but it wasn’t the first time the two faced off on the basketball court.
Years ago, Chet Holmgren crossed up Steph Curry at his own camp, and it wasn’t a moment either of the two ever forgot.
“He crossed me up at my own camp in whatever year that was,” Curry said. “To see him now come, I know he had a rough injury at the start of his career, but he’s back now playing healthy and playing well – it’s fun to see.”
For Holmgren, playing against Steph Curry was a full-circle moment for him. Even though Holmgren lost, it was an amazing experience for the young rookie.
“First time playing against him in the NBA, obviously touched on it earlier but great players over there, and he’s one of them,” Holmgren said. “Definitely got to know where he is at all times. It’s a cool first full-circle moment, I guess you could call it, you know, going to his camp however many years ago it was and now being in the league with him and playing and competing.”
Even though last night was the first time Chet Holmgren faced off against Steph Curry, it won’t be the last. The two teams actually face off two more times this month. Hopefully, those games will be just as entertaining as last night’s.
