The Golden State Warriors are set to get Draymond Green back from his five-game suspension when they play the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. When asked if this needs to be somewhat of a turning point for Golden State, superstar point guard Steph Curry said he thinks so, given where the team is right now.
“Yeah. We’re 8-9,” Curry said. “That nine-game stretch we’re in right now has not been great. I know Draymond is excited to be back, we’re excited to have him, we need him. Overall, how we talked about that last couple practice sessions we had a week ago to kinda focus on the areas of improvement… Draymond being back helps a lot. Not just because of what he does defensively, but because of the way he communicates. But it won’t solve everything. So we have to address those, especially going into [Sacramento], because we know how their offense is.”
Recognizing that Green’s return is going to help the Warriors a lot, Curry also understands it will not fix every problem they have had in his absence. Knowing Golden State needs to address those problems first, Curry is hopeful that the return of Green – along with a more focused Warriors team, can help get their season back on track.
This game against the Kings feels like a big opportunity for the Warriors.
