The Golden State Warriors failed to defend their 2022 NBA championship last season, as they fell to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs. Since the Warriors’ season ended, Steph Curry has been making headlines in another sport, courtesy of his impressive golf performances during the summer.
Recently, Current went viral for hitting his first hole-in-one during a celebrity event of ‘The Match,’ while also participating in the ACC (American Century Championship) – a tournament he ended up winning. When speaking on a recent episode of Today’s ‘Sunday Sitdown,’ Curry playfully credited the Lakers with his recent golfing success, noting how his season ending early allowed him to begin training sooner than planned.
“I want to thank the Los Angeles Lakers for their contributions to me winning my golf tournaments this summer because I got a four-week head start on golf training camp,” Curry said.
Curry might have found success at the ACC event, but he didn’t fare so well during his participation in ‘The Match,’ where he and Klay Thompson took on and ultimately lost to Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
Following his golfing success in recent weeks, Curry will now likely turn his attention toward the upcoming NBA season. Golden State has revamped its roster in the hope of adding both depth and high-level talent. As such, both Curry and the Warriors will have their sights firmly set on another deep playoff run.
Warriors fans will now be hoping Curry can use his recent success on a golf course to provide him some momentum heading into the new season.
