After serving a five-game suspension for choking Rudy Gobert, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green made his return to the court on Tuesday night vs. the Sacramento Kings. Green received a technical foul in this game, and was pulled away from arguing with the official by his teammate Steph Curry, who revealed his message to Green after the technical foul.
“He’s passionate,” Curry said of Green. “… He’s shown in the past that when he gets fiery, you kind of know where the limit is. The carry sign and all that, I was doing the same thing right behind him and they gave him the tech, just because that’s kind of what you expect him to do in that kind of situation. I told him just refocus at that point and let’s just hoop, but that was a dumb tech for sure. We all do that… For him, be fiery, be competitive, be who you are. But we all need to be mindful of not getting distracted and just try to play basketball.”
While Curry and the Warriors want Green to be the fiery vocal leader that makes him so effective, the team also understands he needs to not only stay on the court, but remain focused while out there. This can be a tough balance, but one the Warriors know Green is capable of finding.
