Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has made a slight tweak to his Instagram biography.
Curry updated his Instagram bio by changing the phrase “Guard of the Warriors” to “Olympic Gold Medalist.” Here’s a picture of the updated bio:
Curry also changed his profile picture on Twitter/X and Instagram to him holding the American flag after winning the gold and posted a photo of himself, LeBron James, and former All-Star teammate Kevin Durant with the caption, “Same Team… Winning Team.”
This likely has nothing to do with Curry and the Warriors, and instead is him showing he is beyond grateful and blessed to have represented his country, capturing the first-ever gold medal of his career while playing alongside some of the best players the United States has to offer.
Prior to the journey for the gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics took place, Curry told Yahoo Sports that he wants to be a Warrior for life.
“I mean, I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life,” Curry said. “It’s always been my goal, and I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now, but like you said, life, and especially life in the NBA, it is a wild environment, and things change quickly.”
The 36-year-old has two years left on his contract and is eligible for an extension this summer. Curry has spent his entire career in the Bay Area, and the last thing he wants is to play the rest of his career elsewhere, like his former teammate and All-NBA guard Klay Thompson.
Thompson and Curry will no longer be teammates after 12 seasons. In the same interview with Yahoo Sports, Curry didn’t mince any words regarding Thompson’s departure from Golden State to Dallas.
“Not having Klay man, it still hasn’t really sunk in, just because you’ve been doing it for 13 years together,” Curry said. “And you know, (Warriors coach Steve Kerr) made a joke. He’s like, ‘Sometimes you can’t really find Klay in the offseason, and you don’t really hear from him as much, and then he shows up at training camp ready to go.’
“I kind of have this idea that October, he’ll still (show up) like, ‘Hey guys, what’s up?’ But I know it’s not happening.”
Curry will likely spend the rest of his career in Golden State, barring anything catastrophic. As long as he is donning a Warriors uniform, Golden State will remain a threat.
