The Golden State Warriors have been sweating over the fitness of Steph Curry after he suffered an ankle injury when playing against the Chicago Bulls.
Curry sprained his right ankle during Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bulls but it is not very serious and he is not expected to miss too many games.
It came after a tackle with less than four minutes left in the fourth period and he limped off to the locker room in pain. The Golden State Warriors were leading 112-109 when Curry left the court but eventually fell 122-125 to the Bulls.
Ahead of schedule
Shams Charania, one of the best-sourced reporters in the league, said Curry will miss at least one game – this Saturday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs – and maybe several, but there is “optimism” within the franchise that he will be back soon.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski explained that Curry underwent an MRI on Friday that showed no major damage, so his rehab is not expected to keep him out too long.
After a remarkable month of February with eleven wins and just three losses, the Warriors have consolidated their hold on ninth place in the Western Conference playoff spots.
They will hope that form does not dip too severely whilst Curry recovers from his injury that many fans thought would be much worse.
