On Sunday evening, the Golden State Warriors are facing off against the Sacramento Kings.
They come into the night with a 2-0 record in the preseason (they beat the Los Angeles Lakers twice).
Meanwhile, the Kings are 0-2 with losses to the Toronto Raptors and Lakers.
For Sunday’s matchup, the Warriors will be without Steph Curry and Chris Paul (according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic).
Via Slater: “No Steph Curry or Chris Paul tonight for the Warriors in Sacramento, per sources. Steve Kerr had said his veterans likely would miss at least one preseason game.”
Curry is coming off another sensational year where he averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists per contest while shooting 49.3% from the field and 42.7% from the three-point range in 56 regular season games.
At 35, he still remains among the top ten players in the league and has shown no signs of slowing down.
Meanwhile, Paul is entering his first season with Golden State after getting traded over the offseason.
With the Phoenix Suns (last year), he averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 44.0% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range in 59 regular season games.
The Warriors have won four NBA Championships over the previous nine seasons but are coming off an up-and-down year.
They were the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record and lost to the Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
