Golden State is still in play for a top-eight seed, as they are desperately trying to climb that high. The Warriors have done nicely in recent weeks to put themselves in a position to move up the standings, but any loss from here on out will likely lock them into the ninth or 10th seed. The ramifications of this are significant, as the seventh and eighth seeds have two chances to win one game in the play-in tournament, whereas the ninth and 10th seeds are facing elimination right away.
Every game is crucial for the Warriors, and they certainly cannot overlook their opponent in this one as they try to stack as many wins as possible.
