The Golden State Warriors have been trying to find rest opportunities for superstar point guard Steph Curry down the stretch of the regular season, but their situation in the standings has made that difficult. Up against a Utah Jazz team that needs losses more than wins at this point in the season, Golden State will rest Curry on Sunday.
Curry has officially been ruled out on the injury report for rest, as there is no injury designation for the star point guard. Golden State’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks really hurt their chances at moving any higher than 10th in the Western Conference standings, but they have not yet been mathematically eliminated from moving up. This game against Utah is an opportunity to get a win while also getting Curry some much needed rest.
Steve Kerr recently spoke openly about how much the Warriors have placed on Curry over the course of not only this season, but the entirety of his career. Wanting Curry as fresh as possible entering the play-in tournament, the Warriors will be searching for that balance between getting him rest and winning as many games as possible down the stretch of the regular season.
